Midwifery Services

Our holistic home birth midwifery services are personalized for each individual. We work within a shared decision-making model, guided by the traditional model of midwifery care, and tailor care in relationship with you, honoring your values, your body, and your choices.

Prenatal Care
The prenatal care we provide is relationship-based, unhurried, and centered on you as a whole person. Visits offer space for listening, thoughtful guidance, and support that evolves throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

Prenatal visits are primarily offered in your home. An in-office option in Central Phoenix is available for those who prefer or require out-of-home visits.

Visits are scheduled every four weeks until 28 weeks of pregnancy, every two weeks until 36 weeks, and then weekly until birth. Each visit lasts about an hour. Depending on where you are in pregnancy and your individual needs and preferences, visits may include:

  • Ongoing assessment of your overall well-being
  • Health screenings and assessments, as appropriate
  • Comprehensive laboratory services and testing options
  • Botanical and holistic support
  • Nutritional guidance informed by both evidence and traditional foods
  • Relationship-based care and continuity
  • Emotional support and mental preparation for birth
  • Physical and practical preparation for birth and the postpartum period

Birth
During birth, you are attended in your home by a midwife and a birth assistant. Care is offered in a familiar, peaceful environment where you remain at the center of your birthing experience and the decisions being made. We come prepared with the tools needed to support clinical care, while honoring the physiology of birth and the wisdom of your body.
Postpartum
Postpartum care is provided in your home, with three to four in-home visits during the first two weeks after birth. These early visits offer gentle, attentive support as you rest, recover, and move through the transition into life with your new baby, with ongoing attention to the well-being of both mother and baby.

Care may include gentle, traditional practices such as herbal support for recovery, nourishing herbal baths, belly binding, and body oiling, offered as desired.

Support remains available through the first six weeks postpartum, with additional visits offered as needed. This includes guidance for maternal healing, breastfeeding support, and continued attention to both you and your baby as you settle into the early weeks together.
